Tours and traverses of the Vercors, Diois, and Baronnies GR9 – FFRandonnée TopoGuides
From Grenoble to Nyons, from the Vercors plateaus to the lavender fields of Diois. More than 50 days of hiking.
Proud and majestic, the Vercors inspires respect with its superb landscapes, steep and difficult to access, between cliffs and chasms, where one can glimpse grandiose spaces and waterfalls. The largest nature reserve in France is located here, in the heart of the massif.
Rich in its past, the Vercors invites hikers to discover the traces of its ancient religious struggles and, even more recent and tragic, those of the Resistance during the last war.
Further south, the Diois and Baronnies offer real mountains with steep slopes and significant elevation changes. Vineyards in the Die region, beech trees in the Saou forest, then olive trees and lavender in the sheltered valleys of the Baronnies: you’ll combine Dauphiné pride with Provençal joy.
